Sometimes, a video file won't play on certain devices. This is generally down to either the format of the file or the codec used when saving it.
To diagnose this kind of issue, compare the video format and codecs used against a known working video. A tool like Format Factory will display this kind of information (using the media file info button).
To check the format:
- Click the -> MP4 button
- Click Add File
- Navigate to the file(s) required, select and click Open
- With a file selected, click the Media File Info button
- If necessary, copy the information and paste into Excel (allows for a side-by-side comparison
To convert the video to a different format:
- Follow steps 1-3 above
- Click the Output Setting button
- Change any settings as required
- Click OK twice
- Click Start
To convert a DVD into an MP4 (or another format):
- Select the section for ROM Device\DVD\CD\ISO
- Click DVD to Video File
- Change the output settings (such as the output file type) as required
- Click Convert
- Click Start
